Pronunciation & Spelling
The noun 'digest' is pronounced /ˈdaɪdʒɛst/. None of these words share the exact same rhyme (stressed vowel /aɪ/ + /dʒɛst/). Words like 'suggest', 'congest', 'ingest' end in -gest but have /ɛ/ instead of /aɪ/. 'Gesture' has a different ending /dʒɛstʃər/, and 'jest' has /dʒɛst/ with /ɛ/. Use these to compare spelling but beware of the vowel shift.
Usage priority
Collins 词频等级为 2,建议结合例句记忆,而不是只背中文释义。
