Pronunciation & Spelling
The first syllable of value (/ˈvæl-) sounds like the 'val' in valley and valid, but it does not rhyme with them. The 'ue' spelling is pronounced /juː/ in cue and due, matching the final /juː/ of value; however, in blue and true it is pronounced /uː/, so these words do not rhyme with value.
