All these words share the spelling ending '-mer' but differ in stress and vowel sounds. Monomer shares the same stressed vowel /ɑ/ with polymer, but the coda consonants differ (l vs n). Dimer and trimer use the diphthong /aɪ/, and oligomer and isomer have stress on different syllables. Only monomer is a close rhyme with polymer, but not perfect.
