Pronunciation & Spelling
No common English word rhymes exactly with /ˈɑmnəbəs/. The words above all end in the letters -us, and most end with the same unstressed /əs/ sound, but each differs from omnibus in its stressed vowel and preceding consonants. In particular, the final -bus in omnibus is pronounced /bəs/, not like the standalone word bus /bʌs/.
