Context & Register
mixed: contexts like academic writing, technical manuals, specialized discussions; note_zh: 术语的使用通常见于学术或专业领域,但也可在解释概念时用于日常对话。
Pronunciation & Spelling
Words ending in -logy (biology, geology, psychology, sociology, anthropology) all have primary stress on the syllable before -logy with a vowel /ɑ/ (US) or /ɒ/ (UK), and the suffix is pronounced /-lədʒi/, so they rhyme with terminology. However, analogy also ends in -logy but has a different stressed vowel /æ/ (from /əˈnælədʒi/), so it does not rhyme; it is a common lookalike to be aware of.
